The City is always in need of registered voters willing to work at a local, state or national election. Elections can be held up to four times a year.
To become an election worker, you must:
- Be a registered voter
- Contact the City Clerk or Deputy Clerk expressing your interest or complete and submit an election worker application
- Be available to attend a brief election worker preparation course through Washtenaw County
Election workers are currently paid $11.00 per hour and dinner is provided to the election staff on election day.
All registered voters are welcomed to support this important civic duty—this includes eligible high school and college students and seniors.
You can work all or part of an election day. Polls are open from 7am to 8pm the day of the elections. Elections can be held the first Tuesday of November, February, May and August but those dates are contingent upon open offices and qualifying ballot issues.
