The Public Works Department picks up brush placed in bags or large branches piled near the curb starting on the second Monday of the month. Brush should be placed at curbside on Mondays to ensure pickup. Brush trimmings should be no more than four inches in diameter and cut to a reasonable length that one person can easily handle. Pickup times and routes vary based on other work scheduled for the week. If brush is not curbside when the crews move through an area, it will not be picked up until the following month. Public Works does not pick up grass clippings. Public Act 264 of 1990 "Yard Clippings Diversion Act" prohibits lawn clippings from being placed with your garbage. A compost pile has been established at the Solid Waste Department (located on Werkner Road), for you to use for disposal of grass clippings. The compost pile is for the deposit of leaves and lawn rakings. Please empty plastic bags at the site. There is no charge to residents for use of the compost pile. Non-residents are charged $1.00 per bag. Please have bags ready for the following pickup days: April 8th May 13th June 10th July 8th August 12th September 9th October 14th November 11th December 9th
